# **Documentation**

Welcome to the documentation of the [Swiss-AL Workbench](https://swiss-al.zhaw.ch/) - a language data platform for applied sciences designed to support the analysis of Swiss public communication. Here you will find guides and references to help you navigate the system, work with corpora, and use Swiss-AL tools.

The Swiss-AL Workbench provides access to the Swiss-AL Corpora, the largest multilingual text collection for Swiss public communication, which currently contains over 4 billion words. It enables researchers to examine word patterns, frequency distribution, and thematic trends in various domains, including Swiss journalistic media and publications from political, industrial, scientific, and civil society actors.

In a nutshell, the documentation provides guidance on:

- [Corpora](./corpora.md) → Overview of the datasets included in Swiss-AL and their sampling criteria

- [Tools](./tools.md) → Instructions on how to use the platform’s analytical tools

- [Search Modes](./search-modes.md) → How to conduct precise searches across corpora

- [Swiss-AL Pipeline](./swiss-al-pipeline.md) → How the corpora are processed, annotated, and structured
